Takaku
A downloadable game for Windows
Introduction
Takaku (多角) is a captivating two-player abstract strategy game inspired by Ramsey theory, a branch of mathematics concerned with the peculiar patterns that emerge when colouring the edges of graphs.
Takaku offers an engaging experience for both casual players and seasoned strategists, being both easy to learn and rich with complexity.
How to play
At the beginning of the game, each player is assigned a colour. Players take turns making moves, where a move consists of connecting two dots with a coloured line. Lines are coloured in the player's colour and can only be drawn between two dots if there isn't already a line (in any colour) there. The first player to form a triangle in their colour (i.e. each corner of the triangle is a dot) loses the game.
Game modes
Currently, you can play Takaku on boards of sizes 6 to 12 dots.
Controls
Core
- Press LMB whilst hovering over a circle to select it. Then, press LMB whilst hovering over a different circle to draw a line between the two circles. To deselect a circle that is currently selected, simply press LMB whilst hovering over the circle.
- Whilst playing, press SPACE to play again.
- Press ESCAPE to close the game.
- Press M to return to the main menu (ends current game).
Additional

- Press R to reset circles to their original positions (ignores frozen circles).
Disclaimer
Takaku is currently early in development, so bugs are to be expected. I test each build that I publish here both on my main machine (Linux) and on a Windows VM. If you happen to find any bugs whilst playing, I'd greatly appreciate if you would take the time to reach out and let me know! Thanks.
Install instructions
